Mosque

Riyadh, KSA

This mosque is located within the boundaries of a private palace in Riyadh and serves the residents and guests of the estate. Consistent with other palace buildings, the mosque is designed in a modified eclectic Ottoman style that is in harmony with the surrounding buildings yet is unique as a stand-alone structure. The main prayer hall is 175 sqm and can accommodate 120 worshippers.

The mosque also contains a main entrance area as well as ablution area. The mosque facades are clad in red Indian limestone specially imported for the project. The mosque dome was built by a Turkish master craftsman using traditional Ottoman building techniques . The dome is clad with customized lead sheets.

This project in North Jeddah was initially designed as an Islamic Center serving the city of Jeddah with a main mosque, Islamic Cultural Center, Imam and Moazen residence and staff accommodation. As per the client’s requirements a Moroccan style of architecture was adopted reflected in both the exterior treatment and interior design of the facility.

Khalidiah mosque

Jeddah, KSA

This mosque was designed as part of an existing Royal Palace in the city of Jeddah along Prince Sultan Road. Its intention is to serve the residents of the Palace but also open up on Fridays to the general public for Friday Prayers. The design vocabulary used is abstract Islamic in harmony with the existing palace buildings; accordingly Italian travertine marble cladding was used similar to the surrounding palace structures.

The mosque has a built-up area of 2,600 sqm and can accommodate up to 1000 worshippers. In addition to the main prayer hall it also contains the Imam and Moazen residence as well as large ablution facilities.
